Suntop is run by owner/manager Liz Lacey. Liz and her husband Bart purchased Suntop in 2004. They have spent the last 12 years updating the facilities and striving to be the best.
Liz and Bart focus their lives around the dogs.
Suntop has a great team who help keep Everything running smoothly at all times.
Liz Lacey – Owner/Manager
I have owned Suntop since 2004. I live here on site with my husband and my two sons.
I graduated in 2002 with a Ba(hons) Business degree. I had always wanted to run my own business. During my time at university I worked at Guide Dogs for The Blind in the training kennels which I loved. I then managed a large pet store before buying the kennels with my late father.
I am very proud of what has been achieved so far at Suntop although I have not finished yet!! I still have some exciting plans in the pipeline!
When I am not working in the kennels I am normally doing something else dog related, as I enjoy showing my own dogs. I compete regularly at championship shows and have competed at Crufts many times.
I look forward to welcoming customers new and old and hope to see you soon.
I have been in the background at Suntop from the beginning. When we first purchased the kennels I was working full time in the pet trade. Since the arrival of our two sons I am now working at home with Liz and get involved in the kennels, mainly sorting out maintence jobs and a lot of the collection and deliveries of your pets.
James – Senior Kennel Assistant
I first became part of the team at Suntop Boarding Kennels whilst working during my summer break from University. Since completing my Animal Science degree at the University of Essex I have gone on to work in my full time position.
I was fortunate enough to grow up in an environment which involved lots of animals which ultimately has led me to where I am today. I currently have the pleasure of owning three lurchers all of which are my trusty companions! When you can’t find me at work you will find me up in the hills in the Peak District with my dogs or scrambling up a mountain!
I am lucky enough to enjoy coming into work every day and I look forward to meeting you and your pets.
Alicia – Senior Kennel Assistant
I started at Suntop during the summer of 2014 whilst studying Animal Management at the Brackenhurst Campus of Nottingham Trent University.
For the past couple of years I have been studying Canine Behaviour and Training and I particularly enjoy applying what I have leant into my day-to -day life here at Suntop. In the future I wish to progress into the veterinary Industry.
When I’m not here giving all your lovely pets some fuss and attention you’ll find me walking my own dogs, a Labrador Meg and two working cocker spaniels Eddie and Aspen. Eddie trains in Agility and we hope to start competing in the near future. I also do regular gundog training with both dogs.
